Sik Ladz is the creation of Tristan Sik (Trist), Trist grew up in the beautiful Rainbow Beach, Qld.

On 15th July 2017, at age 13, Tristan was hit by a car and airlifted to the Children’s hospital in Brisbane in a critical condition. He was in a coma and on life support with critical head injuries, on Day 14 the Doctors suggested his family turn his life support off as he would be most likely be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life, his mother refused saying he just needs more time.

Day 30, and on the third attempt to get Trist to breath on his own, he did it! He was in ICU for a total of 37 days. Trists progress was slow at first, he left hospital on Dec 20, 2017 with his eyes open but not much else happening. Fed by a tube in his nose, no sounds, no communication he was a shell of a teenager at age 14. January 2018, it is like a switch turned on in Tristans brain. He started moving and trying to communicate, from that day on we had a little more progress each day. On February 14, 2018, his Mother’s 40th birthday he repeated the words “I love you” to her.

July 2018 he returned to Victory College in Gympie, for social inclusion. He was still quite lacking cognitive skills, but he started lessons the next term and started making progress. In January 2021 he started his final year of high school completing the same level of Maths and English as his peers. Prompting him to think “what will I be able to do when I finish school”?

Well aware of the physical disabilities that hinder him from becoming the diesel mechanic he wanted to be. Trist is a true miracle in how he has recovered to date, he works hard and is determined to “Make His Dayz Count”. His clothing line is all about the things that “Sik Ladz” do and all the things he wants to do with his mates.

It goes to show with the right determination, love and support there is always hope and you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
